Rice Village
Near Rice University, Houston ยท Southwest of Downtown
Rice Village is Houston's original boutique shopping district โ€” 16 blocks of independent shops, clothing boutiques, specialty food stores, and cafรฉs near Rice University. It's walkable, shaded by large trees, and feels distinctly local rather than mall-like. Great for gifts, local brands, and fashion that you won't find at a national chain. Excellent coffee shops and casual dining throughout.

World Cup Merchandise

Official FIFA Merchandise

Official FIFA 2026 merchandise is available at the FIFA Fan Festival at Discovery Green, at NRG Stadium on match days, and at official FIFA retail partners throughout Houston. National team jerseys, scarves, and tournament-specific items are the most popular.

NRG Stadium
Official FIFA merchandise stands inside and around the stadium on match days. Prices are stadium-level โ€” expect to pay premium prices for tournament-specific items.
Discovery Green Fan Festival
FIFA official merchandise at the Fan Festival. Often better selection than stadium shops, and you can browse without match day crowd pressure.
National Team Jerseys
Available at Adidas, Nike, and major sporting goods stores throughout Houston. Buy in advance โ€” popular national team jerseys sell out fast during the tournament.

Shopping Tips

Texas has no state income tax โ€” which partly explains the shopping culture here. But Texas does have 8.25% sales tax on most purchases.
International visitors: the US does not offer VAT refunds on shopping (unlike Europe). What you pay is what you pay.
The Galleria is 15โ€“20 min from Downtown by rideshare. There's no direct METRORail โ€” factor in transport time.
HEB grocery stores are a Houston institution โ€” great for cheap Texas-branded souvenirs, Whataburger spicy ketchup, and Texas hot sauces.
