Muslim Visitor Quick Facts

Halal food availability
Solid and growing. The densest halal restaurant cluster is Overland Park / Olathe (Johnson County) — Pakistani, Indian, Mediterranean and Bosnian. There are additional halal options near midtown KC (Westport, Country Club Plaza area) and a handful downtown. Most concession stands at Arrowhead Stadium will not be certified halal — plan to eat before or after.
Mosques
The Islamic Center of Greater Kansas City (Olathe, KS) is the largest mosque in the metro. The Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City and Al-Inshirah Islamic Center serve the Missouri side. Several smaller community mosques operate in Overland Park, Lenexa, and Lee's Summit.

Arrowhead Stadium offers multi-faith prayer space on match days — confirm exact location via Guest Services on arrival. Bring a small prayer mat. FIFA-specific WC 2026 musalla details have not been publicly published.

Practical Tips

For Muslim Visitors

Use Muslim Pro / Athan apps for accurate Kansas City prayer times — KC sits at ~39°N, so June daylight is long: Fajr around 4:35am, Dhuhr ~1:10pm, Asr ~5:05pm, Maghrib ~8:50pm, Isha ~10:25pm Central.
For the strictest halal certification, look for "Zabiha Halal" signage. When unsure, ask the kitchen directly — KC restaurant staff are used to the question and will tell you straight.
Arrowhead Stadium offers multi-faith prayer space on event days — ask Guest Services on arrival for the current World Cup procedure. Plan to pray pre/post stadium when possible; bring a small prayer mat through security.
Friday matches in late June and July typically kick off well after standard Jumu'ah (1:00–1:30pm Central) — no schedule conflict. Confirm exact match times in the FIFA app.
Kansas City hotels will generally provide prayer mats on request — ask at the front desk during check-in. Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt and Westin properties are reliable. Overland Park hotels put you closest to the densest halal restaurant cluster.
Neighborhoods worth a special trip for halal: Overland Park / Olathe (largest Muslim community in the metro — Pakistani, Indian, Bosnian, Arab populations), and parts of midtown KC near Westport for casual Mediterranean.
