Don't drive. Arrowhead's ~20,000 parking spaces shrink to ~3,000–4,000 for FIFA — sold to ticket holders only via JustPark at $125–$225. The ConnectKC26 Stadium Direct shuttle ($15 round-trip — the lowest stadium-shuttle price of any host city) from 5 P&R hubs (including a new Country Club Plaza route added June 7) is the only viable plan; reservations required.
Arrowhead Stadium sits at the Truman Sports Complex (shared with Kauffman Stadium, home of the Royals) on the east side of Kansas City — about 10 miles from downtown. Kansas City has historically been one of the most car-dependent stadium destinations in the league: RideKC's streetcar and bus network never reached the complex, and Chiefs game days have always been a drive-in/tailgate/drive-out affair. That changed for 2026. The local organizing committee (KC2026) launched ConnectKC26 Stadium Direct — a new branded $15 round-trip shuttle network from four park-and-ride hubs, the first true mass transit to the stadium in KC's history. At $15, it's the cheapest stadium shuttle of any 2026 host city (vs. $80 MBTA in Boston, $20 for the NY school bus option, $98 for the NJ rail). Plan ~2.5 hours pre-kickoff for the FIFA security perimeter.
4 origin hubs across the KC metro feed the Stadium Direct shuttle. Choose the hub closest to your hotel; service starts 3 hr pre-match and runs 2 hr post-match. Reservations are required at all P&R lots.
Arrowhead Stadium parking is severely limited for FIFA — only ~3,000-4,000 of the usual 20,000+ spaces will be sold to fans, all pre-purchase via JustPark at $125-$225, ticket-holder only. Tailgating is effectively gone at the Truman Sports Complex for World Cup matches; the lots that normally host KC's legendary tailgate scene have been repurposed for FIFA hospitality. Tailgate culture is moving to the FIFA Fan Festival at the WWI Memorial. Most fans should skip driving — the ConnectKC26 Stadium Direct shuttle ($15 RT) from 4 P&R hubs is faster, cheaper, and lets you drink. Reservations required.
