🚇 Getting to SoFi
There is no rail station at SoFi. Metro is running a dedicated World Cup shuttle bus from 12 regional pickup points (including LAX/Metro Transit Center on the K Line and Hawthorne/Lennox on the C Line) — standard $1.75 fare, no surcharge. Here's every option — by Metro, rideshare, and car — with match day timing.

⚠ Flag policy — heightened entry screening at Iran matches (Jun 21+)
At the June 21 Belgium vs. Iran match, Iranian fans again brought banned pre-revolutionary "Lion and Sun" flags into SoFi in large numbers despite heightened screening and a court ruling upholding FIFA's ban. One attendee was detained after attempting to run onto the pitch; a post-match scuffle near protesters outside sent one fan to hospital. U.S. DHS publicly stated Iranian intelligence "tried to get somebody in" at Iran's opener. For all remaining Iran matches at SoFi: expect significantly longer entry queues, exterior protest presence, and potential confrontations near stadium exits — add 30–45 minutes to your arrival time. Avoid wearing politically sensitive symbols to reduce screening delays. Any Lion-and-Sun items will be confiscated. Note: Iran vs. Egypt (June 26) is at Seattle's Lumen Field, not SoFi. Strike averted — but ICE walk-off clause retained: SoFi food service workers (UNITE HERE Local 11) reached a tentative deal with Legends Hospitality, averting the threatened strike. However, the contract retains an ICE walk-off clause: workers can legally walk off the job if the union determines in good faith that federal immigration enforcement (ICE) activity threatens worker safety during a match. Any ICE presence at SoFi could trigger a food/beverage service disruption mid-match.
Your Options
Getting to SoFi Stadium
SoFi Stadium has notoriously limited road access for an NFL-size venue, and crucially there is no rail station at SoFi itself. The K Line gets you close, but the last leg is a Metro shuttle bus. Use the dedicated WC shuttle from one of 12 regional pickup points, take rideshare with a long buffer, or walk from a hotel in Inglewood (the easiest option of all).
🚨 LABOR ACTION ESCALATING — Strike Vote June 4–5, 2026 · One Week Before Opener
Update June 1: UNITE HERE Local 11 (~2,000 cooks, servers, and bartenders at SoFi) completed a strike authorization vote May 29–30.
Negotiations with Legends Global then collapsed on May 31 — the union broke off talks after multiple failed sessions. The union has announced a
formal strike call vote for June 4–5, one week before the USA vs. Paraguay opener on June 12.
If a strike is called, all food, beverage, and concession service at SoFi Stadium could be suspended for all eight World Cup matches. Core demands: ICE-free venue guarantee + wage increases. Contract with Legends Global is expired.

⚖️ Privacy complaint filed — FIFA credentialing + ICE data risk (June 2026)
The ACLU of Southern California, UNITE HERE Local 11, and LAANE filed a formal complaint with the
California Privacy Protection Agency and the California Department of Justice alleging FIFA's worker credentialing process violates the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Workers are required to submit Social Security numbers, home addresses, nationality, and country of birth, and must sign away CCPA privacy protections — data that could potentially be shared with ICE/CBP via DHS. CA AG Bonta has been asked to investigate. This is separate from the ticketing investigation. Sources:

No tailgating at SoFi Stadium for World Cup matches: FIFA has prohibited tailgating at SoFi Stadium for all 2026 World Cup matches — unlike Copa América 2024, where tailgating was permitted in stadium lots. Pre-game gatherings are limited to official fan zones (Exposition Park) and nearby bars and restaurants in Inglewood and Hollywood Park. Plan to arrive early via Metro or shuttle rather than setting up in the parking areas.
🗺 Inland Empire fans (Corona / Riverside / San Bernardino)
There is no direct transit from the Inland Empire to SoFi — the K Line stations are ~40+ miles west. Best option: drive to Anaheim ARTIC (~35 min from Corona via I-91) — free short-term parking available, then take the dedicated World Cup shuttle directly to SoFi. OmniTrans and Metrolink riders can connect via Metrolink → Union Station → Metro K Line → shuttle hub. Allow at least 3 hours total travel time from IE.
⚡ LAX shortcut · Metro S11 from Bay 8
If you're flying in same-day: the FREE Metro S11 World Cup Shuttle runs from LAX/Metro Transit Center, Bay 8 directly to SoFi — no K Line transfer needed for this leg. Watch for the Inglewood Event Zones: TNC drop-off blocked on Pincay Drive between Hardy and 102nd; restricted right turns onto Prairie Ave from Manchester Blvd; resident-permit zones around the stadium tightly enforced (towing).

Metro K Line + Dedicated WC Shuttle Bus (12 Regional Pickups)
$1.75 one-way / $3.50 round-trip · standard Metro fare, NO World Cup surcharge
The official match-day plan: take Metro K Line or C Line to one of 12 regional pickup points — including the new LAX/Metro Transit Center (K Line, opened 2025), Hawthorne/Lennox Station (C Line), Crenshaw Station (K Line), Union Station, Long Beach, Santa Monica, North Hollywood, Harbor Gateway, El Camino College, Anaheim ARCTIC, Newport TC, and Torrance TC. From there, a dedicated WC shuttle bus drops you at the stadium. Service starts 3 hr 15 min before each match (1 hr earlier for the June 12 opener). Fares stay at the standard $1.75 one-way / $3.50 round-trip — Metro held the line, no World Cup surcharge. ~330 additional buses across the multi-agency fleet (Big Blue Bus, Culver CityBus, Foothill Transit, Long Beach Transit, OmniTrans, OCTA, Riverside Transit, Torrance, Montebello, Norwalk, plus Access Services). The Inglewood Transit Connector (the "people mover") is NOT open for 2026 — it's targeted for the 2028 Olympics.
Pros
- Cheapest option at $1.75 one-way / $3.50 round-trip
- 12 regional pickup hubs across LA County + Anaheim/Newport
- Standard Metro fare — no WC surcharge
- ~330 additional buses on match days
Cons
- K Line does NOT go to SoFi — shuttle handles the last mile
- Drop at Lot R = 15-20 min walk; Lot S = 5-10 min walk
- Post-event shuttle queues 30-60 min
- Last train ~midnight (check schedule for evening matches)
🇮🇷 Iran base camp update (May 26, 2026) — Tijuana, Mexico
Iran's World Cup base camp has been
moved from Tucson, AZ to Tijuana, Mexico (approved by FIFA, announced May 26). Iran plays its group stage in LA. Fans planning to follow the team near the camp should update their travel plans — the team will be across the border, not in Arizona. Note: Iranian nationals are generally unable to obtain US visas due to travel ban restrictions; matches can be attended in Canada or Mexico instead. Source:

🏕 USMNT base camp — Irvine, CA (Great Park Sports Complex)
The US Men's National Team confirmed their World Cup base camp at the
Marriott Irvine Spectrum, training at
Great Park Sports Complex in Irvine. USMNT fans may be able to attend open training sessions — check
ussoccer.com for announced public session schedules. Irvine is ~40 miles south of SoFi Stadium via I-405; accessible by Metrolink Inland Empire-Orange County Line or OCTA bus connections from the LA Metro network.
Inglewood Park & Go (best cheap-driver option)
From ~$59 via ParkWhiz · 15-min shuttle to stadium
If you must drive, the city-run Inglewood Park & Go is the affordable winner. Park at a remote Inglewood lot, take a 15-min shuttle to the Inglewood Intermodal Transit Facility (next to SoFi). Shuttle starts 3h15min pre-match. ParkWhiz lists Park & Go from $59 early-bird — far cheaper than on-site SoFi parking. Reliable, well-run, fan-recommended.
Rideshare (Uber / Lyft)
$30–80 from Downtown · longer if traffic-jammed
Rideshare works well from anywhere in LA but match-day prices surge significantly. SoFi has designated rideshare drop-off and pickup zones, but the surrounding streets clog before and after matches — your driver may need to drop you a few blocks away. Allow 60–90 minutes from Downtown LA on match days.
Pros
- Door-to-door from anywhere
- Good for groups + luggage
- Flexible departure timing
Cons
- Severe price surge on match days
- Long post-match wait (15–30 min)
- Stuck in traffic on the 405 and surrounding streets
Driving & Parking — Don't Park on Inglewood Streets
$80–$300 official FIFA parking · arrive 3+ hours early
FIFA on-site SoFi Stadium parking is sold via JustPark on the official portal: $80–$150+ general (most common rate ~$100), $250 for group-stage matches, up to $300 for premium matches (the USA's opener and the quarterfinal), per The Athletic — and many lots involve a roughly 22-minute walk to the stadium. Pre-purchase is essential; day-of parking is rarely available. WARNING: Do NOT park on Inglewood residential streets — permits are strictly enforced and towing is aggressive. Off-site Inglewood Park & Go (with shuttle) from $59 via ParkWhiz is the locals' choice. Tailgating is heavily restricted vs. NFL norms (no grills in many lots, no canopies) — assume no traditional tailgate.
Pros
- Tailgate experience
- Convenient for families/strollers
- Useful if you have a rental for the trip
Cons
- Brutal post-match exit traffic (1–2 hrs)
- Must pre-purchase parking passes
- No drinking and driving
By Rail
Metro K Line Routes
How to reach SoFi Stadium by Metro: SoFi Stadium is NOT on a direct Metro line. The closest station is Hawthorne/Lennox Station on the Metro C Line (Green Line), approximately 2.1 miles from the stadium. From there, take the official FIFA shuttle bus or a rideshare to the gates. From downtown LA (7th St/Metro Center): take the Metro E Line (Expo) to Willowbrook/Rosa Parks, transfer to the C Line (Green), ride to Hawthorne/Lennox. Total journey: approximately 45–60 minutes. Alternatively, take the Metro E Line to Crenshaw station and use a connecting shuttle. Rideshare drop-off zones are designated — expect a 15–20 minute walk from the rideshare zone to the gates. There is no on-site general parking; pre-purchase via JustPark if driving.
The K Line is the primary rail route toward SoFi — but remember, no station sits at the stadium itself. You'll ride the K Line to a transit hub (LAX/Metro Transit Center on the south end, Crenshaw further north) and board the dedicated WC shuttle bus to the stadium gates. Drop-off is at Lot R (Intuit East Garage, 15-20 min walk) or Lot S (Arbor Vitae/District Dr, 5-10 min walk). The K Line connects to the rest of LA Metro at Expo/Crenshaw (E Line) on the north end and at the LAX/Metro Transit Center on the south end.

LAX any terminal
✈️ Catching a late flight from LAX after an evening match?
For a 7pm kickoff with a 12:30am flight: the match ends ~9:15pm; you need to clear security by ~11:30pm. Metro is usually the fastest post-match option — take the WC shuttle back to the K Line, ride south to LAX/Metro Transit Center (~30–40 min), then the free LAX Automated People Mover (~8 min) to your terminal. At the gate with 2+ hours to spare. Rideshare works too but surge pricing immediately post-match can push fares to $50–80 and traffic near the 405/Century ramps can add 20–30 min — request the ride as you leave your seat, not after the whistle. Do NOT drive to LAX post-match — Century Blvd backs up badly on match nights.
Match Day Rail Tips
01
Get a TAP Card
Buy a TAP card at any Metro station vending machine for $2 plus fare. Reloadable, scans at every turnstile, and works on every Metro Rail line plus most Metro buses. Avoid fumbling for cash on match day.
02
Allow 90+ Minutes from Downtown
On match days, Metro K Line trains are packed. Plan to arrive at the stadium 90 minutes before kickoff. Allow extra boarding time at busy transfer stations (Expo/Crenshaw and 7th St/Metro Center).
03
Post-Match Strategy
After the match, the Downtown Inglewood K Line station fills very quickly. Walk toward the platform early or grab food/drinks nearby and wait 30–45 minutes for crowds to thin before boarding.
04
Late-Night Matches
For evening kickoffs, check the K Line's last train. LA Metro typically extends service for major events but confirm timing via the LA Metro app before you commit.
