🎉 Fan Zones
NY/NJ has NO single anchor festival — the model is distributed. The original Liberty State Park venue was canceled. On April 27, 2026 Mayor Mamdani + Governor Hochul announced FREE Official NYNJ Fan Events in all 5 NYC boroughs, backed by $20M in state funding. Plus USTA Flushing Meadows and Rockefeller Center fan villages, and a network of bars hosting live screenings.

NY/NJ Fan Festival Network
Liberty State Park fan festival — CANCELLED. The originally planned Liberty State Park Fan Festival was canceled in early 2026 after widespread public backlash over its $12.50-per-session admission fee via Ticketmaster — a paid entry model that broke with the longstanding tradition of free World Cup fan zones. Entry: $12.50 per session via Ticketmaster (was the original plan — the event is now cancelled; do not go). It has been replaced by two anchor fan venues and three additional free borough events (see below). Do not travel to Liberty State Park expecting a fan zone — there is nothing there.
On April 27, 2026, Mayor Mamdani and Governor Hochul announced the replacement plan: 5 free Official NYNJ Fan Events, one in each NYC borough — Queens (USTA), Brooklyn (Brooklyn Bridge Park), Manhattan (Rockefeller Center), Bronx (Bronx Terminal Market), and Staten Island (SIUH Community Park) — backed by $20M in state funding. The two anchor venues are Fan Zone Queens at USTA Billie Jean King NTC, Louis Armstrong Stadium (Jun 17 – Jun 28) and Fan Village at Rockefeller Center — full three-block campus (Jul 4 – Jul 19). Note: Sports Illustrated Stadium is the renamed Red Bull Arena — it is a match venue, not a public fan zone (an earlier $10/day "fan festival" framing was unsupported and has been removed). Plus Times Square big-screen viewings for marquee matches.

Fan Zone Tips
01The Liberty State Park Fan Festival was officially canceled — do not show up there. The Apr 27 Mamdani+Hochul announcement put 5 FREE official fan zones in every NYC borough; SI Stadium remains a separate NJ venue.
02All 5 NYC borough fan zones are FREE entry — no charge, no pass. Brooklyn Bridge Park has the longest run (Jun 13 – Jul 19); Bronx is the shortest (Jun 13-14 only).
03For the Final on July 19, Rockefeller Center and Brooklyn Bridge Park will both be packed beyond capacity. FIFA confirmed a halftime show with Madonna, Shakira, and BTS — expect record crowds at every public viewing location. Arrive 4+ hours pre-kickoff or watch from a Midtown / DUMBO bar.
04Sports Illustrated Stadium (Harrison, NJ) is the renamed Red Bull Arena — it is a match venue, not a public fan zone. An earlier $10/day "fan festival" listing here was unsupported and has been removed. Use SI Stadium only if you have a match ticket; otherwise head to the free borough fan events.
05NYC summer thunderstorms are common. The official fan zones will pause/postpone during severe weather. Have a Plan B bar.
