Practical Tips

For Muslim Visitors

Use Muslim Pro / Athan apps for accurate prayer times in NYC — June daylight is long, with sunrise around 5:25am and maghrib near 8:30pm.
For halal certification, look for "Zabiha Halal" — the strictest US designation. Many but not all NYC restaurants advertising "halal" use it. The Halal Guys, Yemen Café, Taste of Lahore, and Bukhara Grill are confirmed.
MetLife Stadium has historically offered a multi-faith quiet room — ask guest services at the gate for current World Cup procedure. Plan to pray pre/post stadium when possible.
Friday matches: Manhattan office buildings often host pop-up Jumu'ah — check Ummah NYC for the day's locations. Otherwise, Masjid Manhattan (FiDi) is the easiest weekday Jumu'ah from Midtown hotels.
NYC hotels generally provide prayer mats on request — ask at front desk during check-in. Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, and JW chains are reliable.
Halal-dense neighborhoods worth a special trip: Astoria's Steinway St (Little Egypt), Jackson Heights' 74th St (Pakistani-Indian-Bangladeshi), and Bay Ridge's Atlantic Ave (Yemeni-Palestinian-Lebanese).
