Czechia's 11th World Cup (10th as Czech Republic / Czechoslovakia, 1st under the new "Czechia" naming) — and the first since 2006 in Germany, ending a 20-year tournament drought. Drawn into Group A with Mexico, South Korea, and South Africa. The route runs Estadio Akron Guadalajara for the South Korea opener on the WC's first matchday, then Mercedes-Benz Stadium Atlanta for South Africa, then back to Akron Guadalajara for the Mexico decider. Coach Ivan Hašek rebuilt the squad after Euro 2024's group exit; Tomáš Souček (West Ham, captain) the heartbeat at 31, Patrik Schick (Leverkusen) the Bundesliga top-scorer-in-form striker. Czech fans need both US B1/B2 and Mexican visa (US visa-holders are visa-exempt for Mexico via FMM). The 1.5M-strong Czech-American diaspora is concentrated in Chicago, Cleveland, NYC, Texas Hill Country — the historic heart of mid-1800s Bohemian migration.

The 16-Day Mexico-Atlanta-Mexico Loop
From the South Korea opener at Akron to the Mexico decider at Akron is 13 days, with one GDL → ATL → GDL round trip in the middle. No direct flights Prague (PRG) → US; route via FRA (Lufthansa), CDG (Air France), AMS (KLM), or LHR (British Airways). Total elapsed home-to-home: ~16 days.

Fly Czechia → Guadalajara. Best routes: Lufthansa PRG → FRA → MEX → GDL, Air France PRG → CDG → MEX → GDL, KLM PRG → AMS → MEX → GDL, British Airways PRG → LHR → ORD → GDL. Direct PRG → MEX does not exist; expect 2 connections. Total air time: 18-22h. ESTA-eligible Czech passport-holders can transit through US; otherwise route via Mexico City and connect to GDL.

Atlanta has a small Czech-American community concentrated in Sandy Springs and Decatur.

Hašek's reset: Ivan Hašek (62, former Sparta Prague midfielder) took over Czechia in Jan 2024 after Jaroslav Šilhavý's resignation. There are an estimated 1.5 million Czech-Americans nationwide by ancestry — a substantial historical migration tied to 1848-1914 mid-European emigration. The largest concentrations are Chicago (the Pilsen / Bohemian neighborhoods), Cleveland (Czech-American Sokol halls), Texas Hill Country (West, La Grange — heavily Czech), NYC (Astoria, Yorkville), and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The active first/second-generation Czech-American community is smaller (~80,000) but tight; expect Czech beer halls and Sokol gymnastic-society venues showing matches.

Pilsen (named after Plzeň) on Chicago's Lower West Side is the historic Czech-Bohemian neighborhood — though now predominantly Mexican-American. Klas Restaurant (Cicero) is the Czech-Bohemian institution since 1922 — Wiener Schnitzel, knedlíky, Pilsner Urquell on tap. Czech and Slovak Sokol Greater Chicago hosts official watches at the Sokol hall. Chicago's Český Den (Czech Day) annual festival is a 100,000+ attendee event in Berwyn.

West, Texas (north of Waco) is the unofficial Czech capital of the US — Czech-Tex Bakery, the Czech Stop, the Czech Heritage Museum. The annual Westfest Labor Day draws 30,000+. The supporter group "Sparta and Slavia ultras" form the bulk of away support — domestic rivals who unite for the national team. Match-day expect "Kdo neskáče není Čech!" ("Who doesn't jump isn't Czech!"), the iconic Czech anthem "Kde domov můj?", and red-blue-white tifo.
