1689 Johnston St. Vancouver's iconic public market. Daily 9am–6pm. Net Loft for BC-made art and crafts. Best one-stop souvenir.

Asian Malls — Richmond

15 Minutes South of Downtown

Richmond — 15-minute SkyTrain south on the Canada Line — is the densest Asian shopping concentration in North America. The big four malls are within a few stops of each other.

Largest, most polished. Daiso, Yokoyaya, 100+ Asian retailers and food court. Din Tai Fung lives here.

Yaohan Centre
Older, more market-feel. Japanese supermarket Osaka, food court with hand-pulled noodles.

Parker Place
Indie-stall feel. Bubble tea, Hong Kong-style cafés, electronics.

Lansdowne Centre
Mainstream Canadian + Asian mix. Easier if Aberdeen feels overwhelming.
Park Royal (West Vancouver): Large suburban mall + outdoor shopping village across the Lions Gate Bridge. Skip if you have other plans — Pacific Centre downtown covers most of the same retail.

The Signature Vancouver Buy

Pacific Northwest formline-style art (carving, prints, jewelry) is Vancouver's most distinctive souvenir category. Authentic pieces support First Nations artists and carry serious cultural weight. Buy from member galleries — not airport gift shops.

Authenticity: Cheap "Native-style" knockoffs are everywhere downtown and at the airport. Look for the Authentic Indigenous mark or buy directly from the galleries above. If a piece is C$15 at a Robson souvenir shop, it's not authentic.
