Getting There

Dallas Stadium is in Arlington — between Dallas and Fort Worth. No direct rail. Here's exactly how to get there without losing your mind.

Recommended Route

TRE Train — Fastest Route
No light rail to Dallas Stadium — Arlington is car-dependent: Unlike most World Cup venues, Dallas Stadium in Arlington has no direct rail or metro connection. The stadium sits between Dallas and Fort Worth in a zone not served by DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) or the Trinity Railway Express. Your options are: (1) Official FIFA shuttle buses from downtown Dallas and designated park-and-ride locations; (2) Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) — expect $25–$50 from downtown Dallas, with significant post-match surge pricing; (3) Pre-purchased parking via JustPark (FIFA's official parking partner). Plan extra time — the stadium area roads will be heavily congested on match days. Do not assume you can walk or take public transit from Dallas or Fort Worth city centers.
Important: Arlington has no light rail or subway. Every visitor needs to plan transport carefully — match-day traffic on I-30 can add 60–90 min each way.
Downtown Dallas closures · May 26 – Jul 23
FIFA International Broadcast Center (IBC) sets up at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Expect Griffin Street fully closed Canton ↔ Ceremonial, plus an I-30 corridor and Convention Center "quiet period" May 26 – Jul 23. Visitors driving downtown should plan around the IBC perimeter — TRE + DART are unaffected.
Recommended Traffic Windows — Arlington Stadium Matches
City of Arlington and NCTCOG have published preferred drive-in windows per match to minimize I-30 gridlock. If driving, target these arrival and departure windows:

Jun 14 (Germany vs Japan): Arrive 10am–3pm · Depart 5–8pm
Jun 17 (USA vs [TBD]): Arrive 10am–3pm · Depart 5–8pm
Jun 22 (evening match): Arrive 7am–noon · Depart 2–5pm
Jun 25 (afternoon match): Arrive 1–6pm · Depart 8–11pm

Outside these windows, I-30 approaches and AT&T Way are expected to be heavily congested. TRE + DART rail are unaffected by all road closures.
🚧 Stadium-area road closures ACTIVE — May 26 – Jul 23
The following roads near AT&T Stadium in Arlington are closed to general traffic and have been since May 26: AT&T Way (Cowboys Way to Randol Mill Rd) · Cowboys Way (N. Collins St to AT&T Way) · Nolan Ryan Expressway (partial closure). If you are driving or using rideshare, do not route through these streets — use I-30 approaches and follow parking-lot signage. 🌡 Heat stress warning — afternoon matches
Scientists modelling all 16 World Cup venues found Dallas Stadium has up to a 70% chance of dangerous heat conditions during afternoon hours — among the highest risk of any venue. For July knockout-stage matches, Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) readings are forecast to exceed 90°F / 32°C. Arlington's flat, sun-exposed surroundings amplify this. FIFA confirmed mandatory 3-minute hydration breaks mid-half for all matches as part of its heat protocol — plan around them for afternoon kickoffs. Pack water and sunscreen, arrive via climate-controlled TRE train rather than walking from surface lots, and be in your seat before queue peaks. FIFA has confirmed cooling stations and misting tents at the stadium perimeter. Check the Dallas weather guide for match-day forecasts.
01
Get to Dallas
Fly into DFW International Airport. Take DART Orange Line from Terminal A or B to CentrePort/DFW Station (~18 min, $2.50). Or take a taxi/Uber directly from DFW — about $40–55 to downtown Dallas.
⚡ Pre-book your hotel near downtown Dallas or Arlington for easy match-day access.
02
Take TRE to CentrePort Station
From downtown Dallas (Union Station) or Fort Worth Central, board the TRE (Trinity Railway Express). Exit at CentrePort Station — the designated transit hub for the bus shuttle to the stadium. Trains run every 30 minutes on match days, with longer trains (some up to 2,400-passenger capacity). Fare $2.50–$5.00 via the GoPass app, ~35 min from Dallas Union. Backup "Dynamic Charter Service" runs direct from Dallas Victory Station and Fort Worth Central if TRE saturates.
🚆 The TRE leg is the only fare you pay — the shuttle is free with your match ticket.
03
Free FIFA Shuttle to Lot H
At CentrePort, board the free 125-bus FIFA charter shuttle to the "Bus Hub" at Lot H near Dallas Stadium — about a half-mile / 10-min walk to the gates. The shuttle is free with a match ticket; only the TRE leg costs anything. Shuttles run continuously from 3+ hours before kickoff. Return shuttles operate post-match until the last fan leaves. The plan was unveiled by NCTCOG on April 2, 2026.
🚌 Free with match ticket — no separate purchase needed.
04
Allow 4 Hours Before Kickoff
Officials suggest leaving 4 hours before kickoff from downtown Dallas / Fort Worth — TRE + shuttle + the FIFA security perimeter add up. Dallas Stadium security is thorough — clear bag policy enforced, all bags searched. Grab food and drinks inside.
🏟️ Clear bags only. No backpacks. Keep your FIFA app ticket ready.

All Options

All Transport Options
🚕 Uber / Lyft
Rideshare directly to Dallas Stadium. The single official drop/pickup zone is the Esports Stadium Arlington lot (~0.7 mi from the gates) — drivers ignoring it get rerouted by Arlington PD. Surge pricing is heavy on match days, easily 3–5× normal rates with 30+ min waits post-match. Locals' fix: walk 10–15 min toward Six Flags or downtown Arlington before requesting the return ride.
✓ Door-to-door convenience
✓ Good if staying in Arlington
✓ No driving stress
✗ $30–80+ each way with surge
✗ Long wait for post-match pick-up
✗ 0.7-mile walk from official zone to gates
🚖 Taxi
Traditional taxis are metered so avoid the worst surge pricing spikes. Dallas Yellow Cab and other services operate in Arlington. Rank fares are regulated — better predictability than Uber on match days. Book in advance if possible.
✓ Metered fare — no surge pricing
✓ More predictable cost ($35–60)
✓ Pre-booking available
✗ Less available than rideshare
✗ Still slow in match traffic
✗ May need to call to book
🚌 DART + TRE Combo
If coming from DFW Airport, take the DART Orange Line to CentrePort station (same station as TRE). Transfer directly to the TRE heading toward Dallas, or just catch the FIFA shuttle directly from CentrePort to the stadium — it stops at both platforms.
✓ Direct from DFW Airport
✓ No transfer to downtown needed
✓ Very cheap ($2.50 + $2.50)
✗ Only works from DFW Airport direction
✗ Requires planning
🚗 Drive & Park
If you have a rental car, driving via I-30 is an option. Arrive 3+ hours early to beat traffic. Official FIFA parking is sold via the JustPark portal (justpark.com/us/event-parking/fifa-world-cup-2026/dallas-stadium): Group $75 / Round of 16 $100 / Quarterfinal $125–$145 / Semifinal $175. Premium Lots 1–2 are 2–5 min walk; Standard 3–4 are 8–12 min; Economy 5–8 are 15–20 min. Off-site cash hacks: Globe Life Field garages ($30–50 when Rangers are away), Lincoln Square shopping center (~$40 spend + walk), J. Gilligan's $16 round-trip shuttle from downtown Arlington, church/private lots $20–30. Tailgating policy is unsettled — Arlington PD has gone back and forth; assume restricted (no large grills/coolers).
✓ Most flexible for large groups
✓ Off-site lots beat official pricing
✓ Book ahead via JustPark or SpotHero
✗ I-30 gridlock on match days
✗ 60–90 min extra each way
✗ Tailgating rules unclear
🚌 Greyhound / Coach USA
Long-distance bus services connect Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Oklahoma City to Dallas. Not for the stadium itself but great for getting to Dallas from other Texas cities for away fans. Buses arrive at Dallas Greyhound station, then use TRE to stadium.
✓ Budget option from $15 one-way
✓ Great for Houston/Austin fans
✓ No rental car needed
✗ Requires onward transit in Dallas
✗ Fixed schedule
