Al-Akhdar · The Falcons of Arabia
Following Saudi Arabia Across America
Saudi Arabia's 7th World Cup — riding the tail of one of the great upsets in World Cup history (the 2-1 win over Argentina in Qatar 2022) and a Pro-League era that brought Ronaldo, Benzema, Mané, Neymar to the domestic game. Drawn into Group H with Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde. The route is a Southern triangle: Hard Rock Stadium Miami for the Uruguay opener, Mercedes-Benz Atlanta for the Spain marquee, NRG Houston for the Cape Verde decider. Saudi fans need a US B1/B2 visa from Riyadh or Jeddah; in 2026 the wait is roughly 2–4 months. With 2030 World Cup hosting ahead, this tournament is a soft-power dress rehearsal.

Jun 30 / Jul 1
Tue-Wed
If Saudi top Group H: R32 likely Atlanta or LA bracket-dependent. If 2nd: Bracket flips — could end up at Bay Area or Seattle. If they go out: Fly home via JFK on Saudia direct, or stay for the historic Houston/Miami QF window. Saudi Arabia have never advanced past the group stage — the R32 alone would be historic.
The Argentina-2022 echo: Saudi Arabia's most famous moment in football — 2-1 over Argentina in the 2022 opening match in Qatar (Saleh Al-Shehri and Salem Al-Dawsari the goalscorers; Argentina went on to win the tournament anyway). 24-year unbeaten streak ended; Argentina rebooted, Saudi Arabia rode the wave home. The squad in 2026 contains many of those same players — Al-Dawsari, Al-Owais, Al-Shehri, Al-Bulayhi.
Vision 2030 + 2030 World Cup: Saudi Arabia hosts the men's 2030 World Cup (alongside Spain, Portugal, Morocco for 100-year-anniversary opening matches in Uruguay/Argentina/Paraguay). The 2026 tournament is also part of Vision 2030 — the Saudi Pro League era brought Ronaldo, Benzema, Mané, Neymar, Mahrez. Cost reality: SAR 22,000-45,000 per person (~$5,800-$12,000) for the group-stage trip including visa, flights, hotels.
