Metro Vancouver's Muslim population is around ~75,000 β οΈ unverified, concentrated in Surrey (largest hub), Burnaby, Richmond, and pockets of Vancouver proper. Surrey's King George Boulevard cluster is the densest halal food strip in BC. Within central Vancouver itself, halal-certified is rarer β but seafood-and-veg-heavy West Coast restaurants make halal-friendly easy.
If you're staying downtown for matches at BC Place, the closest larger masjid is Al-Jamia (BCMA). The Surrey and Burnaby mosques are larger but require SkyTrain/bus.
Surrey is where you go for serious halal β Pakistani, Afghan, South Indian, Lebanese, Turkish all have anchor restaurants in Newton/Whalley. Most are 30β40 min from downtown via SkyTrain Expo Line + bus.
Halal-certified is rare in downtown Vancouver, but halal-friendly Mediterranean / Middle Eastern restaurants are easy. The seafood-and-veg West Coast tradition also means you can eat well at most restaurants without certification concerns.
